Guidance / College Preparation

The Guidance Counselors are committed to facilitating academic, emotional and personal growth in every student at Mount St. Mary. This is accomplished through college and career counseling, individual and group counseling for various personal issues, classroom guidance presentations, and college and financial aid information nights for parents.

The goals of the department include:
• To be available for individual, personal and academic counseling.
• To deliver classroom units on developmental topics.
• To meet individually with each student to help address their concerns and validate their progress.
• To work with parents to help with worries about their daughters.

The Guidance Counselors also assist the Principal and the Dean of Academics with the development and supervision of academic programs in accordance with the philosophy, mission, and values of the Sisters of Mercy, St. Louis Regional Community.
