A group of family, teammates, friends and coaches joined together in the McAuley Center on Monday, November 13, to celebrate a member of the VolleyBelles for committing to play at the collegiate level. Senior Ella Ward signed her letter of intent with the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, officially becoming this year’s first student-athlete from the Mount St. Mary Class of 2024 with plans to continue playing her sport in college next fall. It also marks the third consecutive year that a VolleyBelle has signed to play at the NCAA D1 level.
Ella has enjoyed a successful career as a Belle and played a key role in helping the VolleyBelles win back-to-back conference championships in 2022 and 2023. Her performance this season earned her All Conference 1st Team and All State honors as well as an All Star nomination.
