Annabelle “Bella” Angtuaco ’25, who was recently named a National Merit Finalist, is one of only five seniors who have been selected from Little Rock high schools to receive the 2025 Stephens Award by The City Education Trust in honor of their outstanding records of academic achievement and service. This year’s program provided $5,000 scholarships to the student winners as well as cash awards to five selected teachers. All of the 2025 recipients will be honored during a ceremony and reception on Tuesday, April 15, at the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce AT&T Auditorium.
“I am so honored to be a recipient of the Stephens Award,” Bella said of her latest achievement. “There were so many exemplary candidates, and I am flattered to be among the students chosen this year. I thank the Stephens and The City Education Trust for their commitment to education, and I hope to be able to pay their gift forward in the future.”
Bella is currently ranked third in her class and is an AP Scholar with Distinction enrolled in five AP courses at MSM this year. She is a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Beta Club and the Catholic High School band. She is also heavily involved in the MSM Theatre Department and is member of the International Thespian Society and MSM Troupe #8462.
With an interest in pursuing a career in pediatric occupational therapy, Bella currently plans to major in biochemistry. She is still determining where she will pursue her undergraduate studies this fall, but has been accepted to a handful of colleges across the country, including Boston College, Villanova University, the University of Washington, UCLA and Hendrix College.
